IMG has many varied activities in Indonesia, having been active in organizing and promoting high-profile sports events in the world’s fourth
most populous nation since the late 1970s. In 1993 an IMG Representative Office was established in Jakarta.
Badminton
In terms of sports events, IMG has worked very closely with the Indonesia Badminton Association (PBSI) for many years. In 1995, IMG negotiated on behalf of PBSI a sponsorship for General Motors (Opel) to become the
Official Car of the Indonesian National Badminton Team. IMG Jakarta was also involved in the organization and sponsorship sales of the Thomas Cup-Uber Cup Finals which were held in Jakarta in 1994 and in Hong Kong
in 1996 and 1998. In 1998, for the seventh consecutive year, IMG, together with the TV station RCTI, will coordinate all sponsorship and television rights sales at the IndonesiaBadminton Championships.
IMG, in association with the TV station Indosiar, staged the Sanyo World Cup Badminton Championships in Indonesia from 1995-1997. IMG also implemented the Lipton World Grand Prix Badminton Finals in 1996 and
1997. IMG also organized the Seiko Asian Badminton Championships in Surabaya in 1996 as well as the A-King Asia Cup in Jakarta in 1997.
IMG Jakarta is now the head office for the Badminton Sports Division within IMG. Events that IMG Badminton is involved with currently include: World Championships/Sudirman Cup, Sanyo Indonesia JVC Asian Badminton
Championships, Ipoh Masters and the Thomas & Uber Cup Finals.
Football
Since the year 2000, IMG has assisted the PSSI in developing Indonesian
football. IMG has been implementing the Liga Bank Mandiri since 2000 and works regularly with the PSSI on National Team matches (e.g. Piala Kemerdekaan, World Cup Qualifiers, etc.) as well as junior programs such
as the Liga Bogasari under 15 national league.
Golf
In golf, IMG organized the inaugural Alfred Dunhill Masters golf tournament
in Bali in 1994 as well as the 1995 event in Jakarta. Since 1996, IMG has worked together with Mercurindo and the Indonesia Golf Association to stage the IndonesiaGolf Championship. IMG has a five-year
agreement to coordinate all commercial activities for Indonesia’s oldest and most prestigious golf event.
Basketball
In basketball, IMG promoted the Harlem Globetrotters tour of Indonesia in 1996 with stops in Surabaya and Jakarta. Beginning in 1998, IMG through a joint venture with SCTV, will co-promote the Indonesian professional
basketball league, Liga Nuvo Kobatama
Clients
For IMG Clients, IMG negotiated an official touring pro affiliation between
world-class golfer Frank Nobilo and Jagorawi G. & C.C. More recently, IMG has secured a relationship between the #1 dry cell battery producer in Indonesia, ABC Alkaline and Heavyweight Champion Boxer, Evander
Holyfield and our office now represents Taufik Hidajat, Indonesia’s top men’s badminton player.
Real Estate (Golf)
IMG’s Resort Services division has been a major contributor to Indonesia’s golf course development through our expertise in club management and golf course design. IMG-associated designers have designed 11 golf
courses in Indonesia. In the area of club management, marketing and operations, IMG is currently responsible for the development and management of 2 golf clubs/resorts in Indonesia:

* Senayan Golf Club - Jakarta
Television
IMG's television arm, Trans World International, has been very active in
distributing TV rights for many world-class sporting events and other programs to Indonesia's six television stations. IMG has negotiated an exclusive licensing agreement for Indonesia with the Matahari department
store chain on behalf of Major League Baseball as well as a product endorsement deal for Indonesia between World Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield and ABC Alkaline Battery. In addition, IMG represented
the Yayasan Rally Indonesia in the negotiation with ANteve for television rights of the 1997 Rally Indonesia.

In February, 2000, IMG’s interactive arm, TWIi, created the first complete world-class website in sport in Indonesia,
