World Championship silver medallist Gade opted not to play in the Malaysia and Indonesia, concentrating instead on his preparations for the forthcoming Brunei World Grand Prix Finals (8-12 August) where he is defending champion.

Gong Ruina's Malaysiawin sees her snapping at the heels of teammate Zhou Mi, who remains in the world number one position. Denmark's Camilla Martin has been pushed into third place, just ahead of Olympic champion Gong Zhichao at number four, and England's Julia Mann at number five.
Sujitra Ekmongkolpaisarn of Thailand improves twelve places to number 16 after reaching the quarter-finals in Malaysia last week.
New world champions Tony Gunawan and Halim Haryanto may have lost the Malaysia title to teammates Candra Wijaya and Sigit Budiarto, but their consolation is that they've knocked Michael Sogaard and Jim Laugesen off the top of the men's doubles list.

There are no noticeable changes at the top of the women's or mixed doubles lists this week, with World Champions Gao Ling and Huang Sui standing firm ahead of teammates Huang Nanyan and Yang Wei, and world and Olympic champions Zhang Jun and Gao Ling keeping Jens Eriksen and Mette Schjoldager at arm's length.
