JVC ABC 2001 was held from August 22 to 26, 2001 in Manila, The Phillipines. There was a lot to play for in this year's competition with record prize money of US$150,000 at stake. Indonesia only secured one title from the men's doubles' all-Indonesian final match despite sending two other finalists to the US$150,000 JVC Asian Badminton Championships, allowing Chinese shuttlers to win three titles on Sunday.
