Third time lucky for Polsana in Thailand?

The 19-year-old Thai (pictured at the Asia Cup last May) is the top seed in this US$50,000 event, held at Bangkok's National Stadium, and after reaching the SEA Games and Hong Kongfinals in September he'll be keen to go that one step further on home soil.
And following the withdrawal of the second seeded Englishman Colin Haughton, Polsana's path to victory should be even smoother. His first test looks likely to come in the quarter-finals, where he's drawn to meet Indonesia's dark horse Budi Santoso, who overcame Peter Gade at the Brunei World Grand Prix Finals.
Haughton's withdrawal is also good news for Malaysian Yong Hock Kin, who was drawn to meet him in the first round. The 27-year-old left-hander has played in just two international events this year - the Korea and Singapore, so will be looking for a confident performance to prove himself worthy of selection.
Ronald Susilo is the men's singles third seed - the young Singaporean scalped Ong Ewe Hock to reach the semi-finals of the Rutac Hollandlast month, and so will be hopeful of an impressive outing in Bangkok to round off the year. Susilo takes on Malaysia's Pei Wei Chung in his first match.
The host nation are also hopeful of honours in the women's singles, as SEA Games and Hong Kongchampion Sujitra Ekmongkolpaisarn is the second seed and should face a clear run through to the final where she is tipped to meet Sweden's Marina Andrievskaya, the top seed.
World number 15 Andrievskaya faces Soratja Chansrisukol in her first match, while Ekmongkolpaisarn (pictured left with Saralee Thungthongkam) squares up to Malaysian K Sugita. Indonesia's Atu Rosalina is the third seed, and Tracey Hallam of England is seeded fourth.
The hosts may boast the top seeded pair in the men's doubles, but Pramote Teerawiwatana and Tesana Panvisvas will face a tough challenge if they're to reach the top step of the podium. Indonesia's unseeded "floaters" Candra Wijaya and Halim Haryanto, and Sigit Budiarto and Hadiyanto Luluk pose a very real threat, and there's a strong chance that Wijaya and Haryanto will meet the Thai top seeds in the semi-finals.
They're expected to have an easy ride against first round opponents Khoo Kian Teck and Chua Yong Joo of Singapore, before lining up against Sweden's third seeds Frederik Bergstrom and Henrik Andersson for a place in the quarter-finals.
At the opposite end of the draw, Poland's Michal Logosz and Robert Mateusiak are the second seeded pair - after a first-round bye, they'll face either host pair Sudket Prapakamol and Songpol Anukritayawan, or Malaysia's Gan Taik Chai and Mohd Fairuzizuan Tazari.
Eny Erlangga and Jo Novita top the seeding list in a women's doubles draw lacking in big names. The Indonesians have reached the semi-finals in their last three events - the Indonesia and Singapore and the Asian Championships. The hosts claim the second seeded spot through Saralee Thungthongkam and Sathinee Chankrachangwong, runners-up at the Hong Kongback in September.
Thungthongkam is seeded second again in the mixed event with Khunakorn Sudhisodhi - Sweden''s Frederik Bergstrom and Jenny Karlsson are the favourites on paper, but could be eliminated after their first match as they face Sigit Budiarto and Eny Erlangga. Australia make a surprise addition to the seeding list - Travis Denney and Kate Wilson-Smith are the third seeds, with Indonesia's Alven Yuianto and Tety Yunita seeded fourth.
